Part 34: Spiritual Blindness |

Being physically blind is certainly a handicap, but
what about spiritual blindness? This condition touches individuals,
communities, nations, and even churches. The Israelites were
notorious for their rebellious behavior! They knew God’s
commandments, but still liked to do their own thing and were
punished accordingly. This far-reaching curse was still in operation
at the time of Jesus. This was the reason He spoke to them in
parables rather than plainly stating the details of heaven. The Son
of God spoke of a man sowing a field and the ultimate outcome of the
seeds. He also told of another man that sowed a field, but an enemy
secretly mixed in tares with the good seed. In each case, Jesus
provided an explanation of the parable to the disciples. The God-man
stated that righteous men had longed to witness what the people of
that day were observing! Salvation is an individual decision and a
lot of people perish because of spiritual blindness.
